Founder of Parallel Globe
The vision behind Parallel Globe began to take shape in 2023 while I was developing a new political initiative for the Syrian opposition. As I worked on that initiative, I found myself confronting the same challenge I had encountered before.
Years earlier, I had launched the Astana Platform and later initiated the process that led to the establishment of the Syrian Constitutional Committee. Both were political initiatives that I developed and which ultimately became part of the broader international political process.
Those experiences taught me something fundamental: political initiatives rarely fail because they lack ideas. More often, they fail because they lack the infrastructure needed to communicate, organise, negotiate and evolve.
That realisation changed my way of thinking. Instead of asking how to launch another political initiative, I began asking a different question: why is there no digital infrastructure built specifically for public and political life?
For nearly two years, Parallel Globe remained a collection of ideas, plans and continuous discussions about what such an ecosystem should become. In 2025, the project reached a decisive turning point when a group of experienced technology professionals joined the initiative. Together, we transformed years of strategic thinking into the first working version of the platform.
Parallel Globe was never designed to become another social network. It was conceived as a comprehensive digital infrastructure for political life—a place to write, read, engage in structured dialogue, organise and transform ideas into action.

We chose Iceland as our primary base because freedom of expression, privacy and democratic resilience should not merely be principles, but the legal foundation upon which the platform is built. We also chose Switzerland to host our encrypted communications services, because trust depends equally on where sensitive communications and data are hosted.
Unlike traditional digital platforms, Parallel Globe is not built on third-party services. From its infrastructure to its encrypted communications, the platform is designed to maximise digital independence, institutional sovereignty and complete control over data.
For political parties and organisations requiring complete operational independence, Parallel Globe also supports self-hosted deployments, allowing them to operate the platform entirely within their own infrastructure.
Most digital platforms today optimise their algorithms to maximise attention. Parallel Globe follows a different philosophy. Its algorithms are designed to encourage meaningful dialogue, promote credible information, reduce coordinated manipulation, bot networks, disinformation campaigns and artificial amplification, allowing ideas to compete on their substance rather than on their ability to provoke emotional reactions.
Parallel Globe was designed to evolve continuously. Just as politics itself never stands still, neither can the platform. While organisations can already create dedicated accounts today, we are working towards introducing fully integrated Digital Headquarters for organisations, universities and think tanks, alongside Artificial Intelligence Governance (AIG), Analytics AI, intelligent AI-assisted search, AI-powered research, and organisational tools designed to strengthen knowledge management, strategic analysis and informed decision-making.
Parallel Globe is more than software. It is a long-term effort to build the digital infrastructure that modern public and political life requires—not only today, but for the decades to come.
